Study in Poland
Studying in Poland, a member of the European Union and the Schengen area with seven centuries of university history, is attracting a growing number of international students. Every year, 45,000 of them come to sit on the benches of its private and public universities and institutions. With good reason, Poland is one of the top 10 European countries for higher education, and many of its institutions are ranked among the best in the world.
The Polish higher education system
Like most European countries, Poland applies the LMD: Licence – Master – Doctorat (Bachelor’s – Master’s – Doctorate) system. Its higher education institutions are divided into vocational schools and universities (traditional universities and technical universities (polytechnic type). Its degrees (Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctorate) are recognized in all countries on the European continent.
Higher education establishments and programs
With its 500 establishments, universities and private and state schools, Poland offers almost every specialty. Foreign students mainly come to study at its technical universities for programs in IT and engineering in general, as well as at its medical faculties, whose reputation extends beyond its borders.
Academic year and enrolment periods
The Polish academic year is divided into 2 semesters, beginning in early October and ending in mid-June.
Languages
Although its institutions teach their courses in Polish, most specialities, particularly at undergraduate level, are also taught in English. Certification is required in all languages.
Visa procedure
It can take up to 60 days for a visa to be issued, from the time the application is submitted by the applicant.
