Study in Spain

With around thirty institutions ranked among the best universities in the world and a range of renowned programs in health (medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, veterinary medicine), tourism, sports and business, this European country within the Schengen area remains a destination of choice for Spanish-speaking foreign students.

The Spanish higher education system

As a member of the European Higher Education Area, Spain’s higher education system is based on the LMD system: Licence, Master – Doctorat (Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctorate), and its diplomas are recognized in over fifty countries across the world.

Spain has 51 public universities, 32 private universities, including Catholic institutions, under autonomous management. They award three types of degrees, all recognized by the State:

– Grado ( Tunisian equivalent of Bac+3 or Bac+4)

– Postgrado (Tunisian equivalent of Bac+4 and 5)

– The Doctorado (Doctorate, in 3 or 4 years after the Postgrado)

Admission requirements

As autonomous institutions, each university has its own admission criteria, and may therefore require an entrance exam as well as certification in Spanish or even English, depending on the university (Find more information below).

A common admission requirement is that your secondary education diploma (Bac) must be validated before you can apply.
